This catalogue of “Cruiskeen Lawn” is the first consolidated record of the column’s publication from October 1940 to April 1966. It was compiled as part of Catherine Ahearn’s PhD dissertation titled “In Conversation With Readers and their Times: Myles na gCopaleen’s Cruiskeen Lawn” completed in 2017 at the Boston University Editorial Institute under the guidance of Sir Christopher Ricks.
The catalogue is published here to serve as an open access resource for O’Nolan scholars and to support further work on the columns. Users are encouraged to use the platform’s annotation tool to make notes on entries, add to or correct this record, and to generally create a community around the resource.
At present, this catalogue is only a metadata summary of the columns and the entries are not currently linked to a corresponding searchable catalogue called Digital Myles. Those who have access to the Irish Times Digital Archive or other collections can use this catalogue to navigate the over 4,000 “Cruiskeen Lawn” entries. To learn more about the long-term goals of this project and Digital Myles, please email Catherine directly at the email provided.
